WCBE Files

The new Columbus Safety Director is a City Hall veteran. Retired Fire Chief Ned Pettus was appointed yesterday. He was among four finalists selected by Mayor Andy Ginther. Pettus will be in charge of rebuilding relationships between Columbus' black community and police and fighting the city's heroin epidemic.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
