Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs is recommending the city's safety director dismiss a police lieutenant.
Jacobs says an Internal Affairs investigation found Lieutenant Melissa McFadden created a hostile work environment and violated federal employment laws. Jacobs says the investigation shows McFadden, who is African-American, gave an African-American sergeant a positive evaluation because she doesn't believe in "black on black crime." McFadden, who is on desk duty, denies the allegations, and says white officers were not terminated for far worse conduct including use of the n-word, and theft of time.
