A Summit County jury has recommended the death penalty for a triple killer convicted of luring his victims to Eastern Ohio with bogus on-line job offers.
The jury made its recommendation after hearing from witnesses for 53-year-old Richard Beasley. Beasley's mother and a psychologist portrayed him as a man dealing with depression and other problems after a troubled, abusive childhood. The self-styled street preacher was convicted of teaming up with a teenager to rob and kill three men and wound a fourth. Brogan Rafferty was sentenced to life in prison last year. Judge Lynn Callahan read aloud the recommendation she received from the jury last night.
