A Note from the General Manager

WCBE 90.5 FM — a charter member and the original home to National Public Radio (NPR) in Columbus — is rebranding its broadcast approach to deliver more music-intensive programming to Central Ohio.

We're excited to announce that beginning October 26, Public Radio Music Day, our programming schedule will offer more hand-picked and curated music from local neighborhoods and beyond. Our knowledgeable and engaging local hosts/producers are well-known throughout the region for their carefully crafted playlists and community outreach and have been familiar voices on WCBE for decades. Now, you can tune in to experience their eclectic mix — from blues to reggae, roots rock to jazz, funk to Celtic, country to EDM — each and every day!

A news presence will continue to be a key part of the station's sound, focusing on Columbus' arts community, state, regional and local news, and culture. And NPR newscasts will help keep you informed at the top of the hour.

The station remains an active partner in creating a better Central Ohio by providing an amplified voice to area organizations, non-profits, and events through on-air and online content.

In addition to producing informative and entertaining community-centric programming, we will also provide the students of Columbus City Schools real-life, professional working experiences, which will benefit the district, Central Ohio, and beyond.
