Donation FAQ

What types of donations can I make?

One-Time: A single lump-sum donation made directly to us through our donation page using your credit card or checking account.

Sustaining: A monthly payment made directly to us through our donation page using your credit card or checking account. These are charged on the second-to-last Thursday of every month.

Vehicle: Work with CARS or the CarTalk Vehicle Donation Program to donate your car, which will be auctioned off at no cost to you, and WCBE will receive the proceeds of the sale. For more information, go to wcbe.org/cars. Note, WCBE itself does not facilitate any part of the car sale process, and we are unable to provide information on a car donation until we receive the payment.

Grant/IRA/DAF Distribution: Work with your financial institution to make a direct contribution to WCBE from your retirement account. These donations can be made using Columbus City Schools' EIN: 31-6400416. Please make note that the funds are intended for WCBE and our programming.

Mailed Check: A single lump-sum donation made directly to us through the mail using a paper check. These can be made out to WCBE and mailed to 540 Jack Gibbs Blved, Columbus, OH 43215.

I have a sustaining donation and my payment information has recently changed. How do I update my payment information?

If your payment information has changed (credit card expired, new checking account or credit card, etc.) we recommend starting a new sustaining donation with the new payment information, or calling us at the station to get it changed over the phone.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. Donations made to WCBE are tax deductible. As a subsidiary of Columbus City Schools, we qualify as a tax-exempt non-profit organization.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes. We process and send out tax receipts for the previous year by January 31st. We email tax receipts by default, and mail receipts to those with no email address on file or if they have requested a mailed copy. If you have not received a tax receipt, please reach out to us directly so we can get you a replacement.
