Mr. Cosgrove left Broadway moving to Columbus in early 2020, where he connected with The Brunetto Orchestra. The music of Frankie Valli has lived on for over sixty years, and is embraced by the current generation through the Broadway musical and movie JERSEY BOYS. VALLEY DALE BALLROOM HISTORYValley Dale Ballroom is a significant fixture as one of the nationally renowned Ballrooms of the “Big Band” musical era of the 30’s and 40’s. Many famous Big Bands and entertainers, including Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Cab Calloway, Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby. In the 60s pop/rock bands lead music by way of The Dave Clark Five, Herman's Hermits, Ike & Tina Turner, The Drifters, The Stone Poneys featuring Linda Ronstadt, Warhol's Velvet Underground, Leon Russel, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap. with the 1980s and 1990s, Alice Cooper, Natalie Cole, Destiny's Child, the music evolution was happening. Tupac was all set to go on the VDB stage, as a dramatic fight broke out just before the concert, the venue cancelled that show immediately on the spot. Legends of entertainers for all genre’s and decades have appeared at Valley Dale. Ballroom. This incredible music pavilion is on the National Register of Historic Places. Billy Preston, also of Beatle fame, studied musical history and their venues. Preston, was so dazzled by the Valley Dale Ballroom, coming to town he anonymously booked the venue for a private afternoon, requesting only the piano to be tuned. Arriving by a black limousine, solely, he entered the ballroom, playing, only for himself, for the tea-time hours. Upon his quiet exit he was content knowing he played the venue he longed to be a part of.
