McCain and Obama neck-and-neck in the polls

Columbus, OH – Poll numbers from the Associated Press show republican presidential candidate John McCain's appeal to so-called low information voters is working. AP says whites without a college degree back McCain by strong margins in Ohio. The race: whites overall back McCain by 11 points, while Democrat Barack Obama enjoys a 14 point lead over McCain among Ohio women. Independents, white Catholics, and white women are closely divided between the two. Overall, AP says Obama and McCain are in a virtual tie in Ohio. Meanwhile another new statewide public opinion poll confirms what others have found--the presidential race in Ohio is now a tossup. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
