Farmers turn to soy after rough weather

Columbus, OH – Across much of the corn belt. Farmers have their crops in the ground after a wet Spring that put them weeks behind schedule. Now, many are turning their sights on planting already delayed soybeans. And farmers across Ohio, and other portions of the Midwest are hoping the weather cooperates. A curtailed crop could mean higher corn prices for consumers. The Spring weather isn't the only reason farmers are turning to soybeans, a crop they had previously forsaken. Another is the recession.
