Ohio Abortions Decline

The Ohio Department of Health says the number of abortions performed last year was nearly 24-thousand-8-hundred.That is a decline of 33-hundred from the previous year and the lowest level since data-tracking started in 1976. The Department says reported abortions have decreased each year since 2000. The state does not give reasons for the decline. Nearly 15 percent of abortions last year involved females younger than 20. Roughly one-third involved women between the ages of 20 and 24.
