Homeless Shelter Fight Goes To Court

The courts are being asked to step into the fight over a proposed homeless shelter in Franklin Township.A daycare center called Creative Child Care on Industrial Mile Road is asking a judge to block the opening of a 190-bed shelter next door, citing safety and health concerns. Community Shelter Board officials say they need the temporary shelter to avoid deaths from exposure. The board is leasing the building that will be operated by the YMCA.
