Coleman Year In Review - Part 3

Earlier this year, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman pledged 18-million city dollars toward removing the Main Street dam and developing the acres of  land along the Scioto river downtown that would be created by the structure's removal. He wants the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation to complete the project by the end of 2015. The estimated cost of the project is more than 35-million dollars, with contributions expected from the private and non-profit sectors, as well as from state and federal grants. Officials wanted to see some concepts for the area devised by the end of this year. But in the third installment of our annual end of the year interview with the Mayor, he says it will probably be next year before those concepts come to fruition.
