Cleveland police chief waiting results of police shooting investigation

Cleveland police chief Michael McGrath says the probe into the December shooting of two African-Americans by a group of mostly white officers will be completed by the end of the month. McGrath hopes it will provide answers  about the number of officers involved.

McGrath: There's a firewall between the criminal and the administrative -- as there should be. when that's completed, we'll have an exact number.

McGrath says officers fired more than 130 shots at the suspects following a police chase. Police officials have said said the shooting was justified because the suspects attempted to ram a cruiser and hurt an officer. McGrath says he was stunned by recent video that showed 50 squad cars involved in the chase, because department policy calls for only two cruisers.

McGrath: Can't say that I have... that many cars... but there again, I don't know what the circumstances were, or what led up to it.

Federal and state authorities are also investigating.
