Two Finalists For State Schools Superintendent Named

The acting state schools superintendent and the governor's top education adviser are the two finalists for the permanent superintendent's job.Michael Sawyers and Richard Ross will be interviewed next week. Thirty people applied to succeed Stan Heffner, who resigned in August after an ethics investigation found he misused state resources in work he did for a Texas-based education firm.
