There are calls to fire the Steubenville High School football coach in the aftermath of the rape convictions of two players. An online petition calling for the firing has collected 40-thousand signatures in less than a week. The petition stems from claims during the trial that coach Reno Saccoccia tried to cover up the rape of a 16-year-old girl last August. Trent Mayes and Ma'lik Richmond were convicted earlier this month. Operators of the site where the petition is posted, Change.org, says it was initiated by a Maryland woman. Steubenville Schools Superintendent Michael McVey says he supports the football program and the coach.
