The state's Department of Veterans Services is seeking nominations for induction into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. The hall's executive committee chooses no more than 20 inductees annually. The deadline for nominations is June 30th. The hall was created in 1992 to recognize and honor the state's veterans for putting their skills and abilities to work in their local communities after completing their military service. The charter members of the first class of 1993 include the six Ohio military veterans who served as U.S. presidents and all Medal of Honor recipients from Ohio. Those honored over the past 20 years include astronauts, government officials, police officers, community leaders, and veterans' advocates.
