Suit Filed By Pregnant Teacher Goes To Trial Today

Opening statements begin today in the trial of a teacher's lawsuit alleging The Cincinnati Archdiocese violated anti-discrimination laws by firing her over her pregnancy from artificial insemination. Christa Dias claims her 2010 firing also violates church policies that are not equally enforced against men and women. The Archdiocese says Dias was fired because artificial insemination is immoral and violates church doctrine and her contract. Dias says she taught computer technology and had no ministerial duties.
