New Trials Ordered For Parents Of Drowned Children

The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled the mother of two children who drowned in the Muskingum River during a campout in 2011 and her husband must each get new trials. The ruling upholds a decision by a state appeals court in the case of 27-year-old Kasey Klein and her 40-year-old husband Richard. The lower court upheld Richard Klein's claim that the two should have been tried separately. They were convicted last year in the deaths of 2-year-old Anthony Tullius and and 3-year-old Ayden Cecil.
