A Hamilton County judge has found the village of Elmwood Place in contempt of court, saying it violated his order against using traffic cameras to catch speeders. Judge Robert Ruehlman also wants the sheriff to confiscate the cameras. The village also must pay back fines collected since Ruehlman's March 7th ruling striking down a village ordinance allowing the use of the cameras. The village has appealed Ruehlman's injunction, and has said it stopped issuing citations in the aftermath of his March ruling. The Ohio House on Wednesday approved a measure banning local governments from using the cameras, saying they are a money-grab.
