Fireworks Bring More Strays To Animal Shelter

The Franklin County Animal Shelter reports more dogs than usual ended up at the facility because they were likely frightened by the noise from last week's fireworks displays. Columbus held its annual Red White and Boom fireworks display downtown, several suburbs had their own shows, and many individuals shot off their own fireworks. From last Wednesday through Sunday, the shelter took in 174 stray dogs. It usually takes in 23 a day. 44 of the dogs have been claimed by their owners.
