OSU Smoking Ban To Take Effect This Month - Sort Of

An Ohio State University spokesperson says the campus-wide tobacco ban will begin when classes resume on August 21st - but officials are still fine-tuning the ban and figuring out what the penalties for consuming a legal product on public land will be. Gary Lewis also says officials want more time to notify the campus community about the ban. Lewis says OSU will not begin punishing violators until January. 16 public and private schools in Ohio already ban smoking on all or parts of their campuses, per a voluntary policy enacted by the Ohio Board of Regents.
