Federal regulators say there are no safety issues that should stand in the way of renewing the operating license for the Davis-Besse nuclear plant in northern Ohio. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued its final safety evaluation report as part of the license renewal process. FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company seeks a 20-year license extension for the nuclear plant that sits along Lake Erie east of Toledo. A final decision on the request isn't expected to come until next September.
