The Ohio Attorney General's office is investigating the promoters of the abruptly canceled Great American Mud Run in Hocking County. At issue is whether race organizers should offer refunds to hundreds of people who paid registration fees for the Saturday event before it was canceled on Monday. When the promoters could not be reached by phone or email, jilted participants and the venue owner went to the AG for help. The promoters say money spent to secure the site and promote the event left them in the red. There was a "no refund" policy in the registration forms, but the promoters have returned sign-up fees to half of the runners.
