The Licking County Board of Elections has cut nearly half of polling locations in a move to reduce costs. The board is doing away with 30 precincts and more than 20 polling locations. Seven precincts serving villages with fewer than 200 voters were consolidated with other locations. The move is expected to save 20 thousand dollars. Fairfield County cut 20 precincts early last year, while Madison County dropped from 43 precincts to 27. Delaware and Union counties saw smaller downsizing. Franklin County, plans to eliminate 12 polling locations for the upcoming election through consolidation. The change will force 28-thousand voters to cast ballots in new locations.
