Ohio Gets Share Of Settlement With Drug Maker

Ohio's Medicaid program will receive 52.7 million dollars from the newly-announced 2.2 billion dollar national settlement with Johnson & Johnson and a subsidiary. Allegations against the companies include paying kickbacks to physicians and pharmacies to recommend and prescribe two antipsychotic drugs and a drug to treat heart failure. The agreement is the third-largest U.S. settlement involving a drug maker, and the latest in a string of legal actions against drug companies accused of putting profits ahead of patient health.
