State To Get Money From Google Settlement

State officials say Ohio will receive more than 716 thousand dollars out of the 17 million dollar settlement with Google over its placement of third-party cookies on Safari Web browsers during 2011 and 2012. The settlement involves 36 states and the District of Columbia. Authorities say default privacy settings were circumvented without the knowledge of the public. That allowed third-party advertisers to gather information about consumers using the browsers.
