The City of Columbus has set aside nearly 1.4 million dollars to help low-income homeowners make repairs.
Money is available for roof replacement, home modifications for residents with disabilities and other repairs. City Housing Administrator Rita Parise.
Parise: The roof repair program is citywide, there are no geographic boundaries. The Home Safe and Sound is targeted to the Neighborhood Pride areas for this year; the only application cycle that is still open is Reeb-Hosack. But the home modification program, which is making accessibility modifications to a home for a handicapped member of that household is available citywide as well. We do ask that homeowners be at or below 80% of the area median income. The 80% income for a one-person household in Columbus and Franklin County is $38,050. For a household of four is $54,300.
Parise says those interested in applying for funding should contact the Columbus Department of Development.
