Group Of States Want Ohio And Others To Reduce Emissions

Eight Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states are asking the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to require Ohio and eight other upwind states to cut emissions of harmful pollutants. They are seeking a reduction in emissions carried by prevailing winds that contribute to the formation of ozone in the downwind states. Those states are seeking what they call long-overdue commitments to protect health and level the playing field for businesses. The EPA is required to approve or reject the request within 18 months.
