Turbines To Help Power Honda Plant In Ohio

Honda says it will begin operating two new wind turbines at one of its western Ohio properties this week to help provide power for the plant.

The automaker says the turbines were installed at its transmission manufacturing plant in Russells Point, about 60 miles northwest of Columbus. Honda says the turbines are expected to provide about 10 percent of the plant's electricity and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The turbines have 160-foot blades secured on 260-foot towers. Honda says the turbines will be owned and operated by an energy service company, ConEdison Solutions of Valhalla, N.Y.
