Settlement Blocks First Strip Club In Athens

The city of Athens has reached a settlement that will prevent its first strip club from opening. A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the city after the businessman who wanted to open the club, Christopher Stotts, and his landlord reached a settlement. City attorney Chuck Curley says the city's insurance company will pay the two men 425 thousand dollars, and Stotts will withdraw his application to open the club and withdraw his civil-rights lawsuit against the city.
