State, Group Settle Voter Registration Lawsuit

A conservative group has reached an agreement with Republican Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted in a lawsuit claiming the state was failing to maintain accurate voter registration lists. The suit by Judicial Watch alleged certain counties had more registered voters than their total voting-age populations. The lawsuit also claimed Husted failed to take reasonable steps to maintain clean voter rolls as required by federal law. Husted says the settlement formalizes his office's current practices.
