Use Of New Leukemia Drug Approved

Cancer patients across the country will now have access to a drug tested at Ohio State University. The Food and Drug Administration has approved ibrutinib for use to treat the most common form of adult leukemia. Researchers say the drug caused remission in every patient who took it during a clinical trial. Studies are now underway on ibrutinib's effects on other forms of cancer.
