State Lawmaker Facing New Indictment

Republican Ohio House Speaker Bill Batchelder says Republican State Representative Peter Beck has agreed to resign as chair of the House Ways and Means Committee following a new 53 count corruption indictment.A Hamilton County grand jury issued the indictment Thursday charging Beck with theft, public corruption and perjury for allegedly defrauding investors in a software company. Beck already faced trial in April on 16 felony counts. Beck has rejected calls to resign his House seat and is running for re-election.
