Ohio Lawmaker Off Ballot After Clerical Error

A veteran Republican Ohio House member has dropped his re-election bid because he failed to sign his paperwork enough times.

Rex Damschroder says he's now checking to see if he can run as a write-in candidate. Damschroder dropped the bid after discovering that he failed to sign his declaration of candidacy the required number of times. He acknowledged that it was his mistake. Damschroder was expected to win re-election because there were no other candidates running against him. He was first elected as a state representative from 1995 to 2003 before stepping down because of term limits. He won a spot  again in 2010 and 2012.
