New Survey Gathers Attitudes About Interactions With Cincinnati Police

People who interact with police officers in Cincinnati can now rate their experience online and over the phone. The initiative is part of a survey involving about 100 agencies across the country and is being administered by the University of Illinois. People who encounter police during traffic stops, accidents and nonviolent crimes will be eligible for the surveys. Cases involving violence, sexual assault, or juveniles will not be a part of the surveys. Community members qualifying for the survey will receive blue post cards in the mail with a special code allowing them to participate online or over the phone, one time only. Department officials say they're hoping for honest feedback to help improve police service in the community.
