The State Highway Patrol says three people died Wednesday in crashes involving at least 50 vehicles across a 2-mile section of the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike between Toledo and Cleveland.Another series of pileups 10 miles to the east shut down the turnpike's westbound lanes. A trooper was seriously injured when he was pinned between two vehicles. Emergency workers are having a difficult time responding because of the snowy conditions and traffic backups.
