Republican Cincinnati City Council member Charlie Winburn will run for the Ohio Senate seat held by term-limited minority leader Eric Kearney. Winburn's former Democratic Council colleague, Cecil Thomas, will be his opponent in the November election. Kearney was the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, but removed himself from the ticket after it was revealed that he has at least 825 thousand dollars worth of back taxes and credit card debt.
