Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp says four jail guards have resigned following an internal investigation into their performance. Thorp says the guards recorded inaccurate log information and failed to make adequate routine inmate checks. Thorp is not saying if the resignations are related to the May suicide of 67-year-old inmate Stanton Deeley. Three other inmates attempted to kill themselves in June.
