Ohio Board of Education President Will Not Seek Another Term

State Board of Education president Debe Terhar says she will not seek re-election. She says her reasons are "multi-faceted and deeply personal".  Terhar says she will finish out her four-year term, which expires at the end of the year. In September of last year, Terhar characterized  Ohio native Toni Morrison's Book "The Bluest Eye" as "pornographic." The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio challenged her earlier statements that the book should be banned. And Terhar was nearly fired in January of last year after sharing a Facebook post that equated President Obama to Adolf Hitler.
