Former Glouster Police Chief Luke Mace has pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor counts of dereliction of duty for helping a woman avoid arrest. Mace must give up his peace officer certificate as part of a plea agreement. An Athens County judge dismissed six other counts, including felony obstruction of justice. Mace's 100-day jail sentence is suspended if he stays out of legal trouble for two years. Prosecutors say Mace knew the woman was wanted by authorities and should've arrested her, but allowed her to stay at his house and gave authorities misleading information. Mace told the judge he believed he "was acting in good faith."
