Columbus Mother And Three Kids Hit By Car

Columbus police say a car turning off a driveway struck a woman and her three young children in a crosswalk on East Broad Street yesterday. Police say 30-year-old Julia Groves had a 6-day-old infant, Kevionna Tolliver, in a sling-type carrier and was walking next to her 7-year-old son Nasser Valdez and 2-year-old daughter Azianna Groves when the group was struck near Outerbelt Street. The infant is hospitalized in stable condition. The 2-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition. The older boy was treated at a hospital and released. The woman had minor injuries but refused treatment. Police say they have not decided whether to file charges against the driver, 26-year-old Dieter Hackman.
