An estimated 5 thousand gallons of fuel oil spilled from a Duke Energy coal-fired power plant into the Ohio River last night in New Richmond. A Duke Energy official says the spill happened during a fuel oil transfer. It is not clear if there is any impact on wildlife or drinking water. The Cincinnati Marine Safety Detachment says a vacuum likely will be needed to suck the oil out of the water.
