Former Chillicothe Police Chief Files Wrongful Termination Lawsuit

Former Chillicothe Police Chief Roger Moore has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the city, in an attempt to get his job back.  Mayor Jack Everson fired Moore last month for insubordination and bad behavior.  Everson says Moore behaved inappropriately during encounters with Chillicothe schools Superintendent Jon Saxton and Ross County Sheriff George Lavender. Everson says the notes of apology he ordered Moore to write were insincere. Everson also says Moore also argued with a patron outside of a bar, and with a State Highway Patrol trooper who stopped him for speeding. The former chief claims he was fired in part because his claim that his firefighter wife died of cancer that was caused by unhealthy conditions in her fire station was upheld by the Ohio Industrial Commission.

Everson says Moore's claim is wrong, and his termination letter clearly states why Moore was fired.
