Judge To Hold Hearing On Libertarian Candidates Ballot Access On Monday

A federal district judge has denied two disqualified Libertarian candidates immediate access to the November ballot. Judge Michael Watson says adding gubernatorial candidate Charlie Earl and Attorney General candidate Steven Linnabary to ballots this late could result in voter confusion and disarray. Watson will hold a hearing on Monday, a day before early voting is set to begin. The party argues a decision by Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted to disqualify the candidates was unconstitutional. They say a Republican underwrote the legal challenge to Libertarian petitions and the state's hearing officer also has GOP ties.
