Trial Scheduled For Ohio Man Accused Of Capitol Terror Plot

A March 2 trial date has been set for an Ohio man accused of plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol and kill federal officials and workers.

U.S. District Judge Sandra Beckwith in Cincinnati also Friday set a pretrial conference for Feb. 24. Her order came a day after Christopher Lee Cornell pleaded not guilty to three charges including attempted murder of U.S. officials and employees. The trial could be postponed. The judge told both sides to begin discussions on a possible plea agreement as soon as practical. Cornell was arrested Jan. 14. The FBI says he planned to "wage jihad" by attacking the Capitol with pipe bombs and shooting government officials and employees. He is being held without bond. His father says he's a "mommy's boy" who was "coerced."
