Man Who Allegedly Shot Newark Cop Released From Hospital

A Newark man charged with shooting a police officer is in custody after being released from a hospital. Newark police say 27-year-old Randall Hutchison led officers on a chase last November before he shot and wounded detective Doug Bline. Police say Hutchison then raised his gun to fire at another officer, and that officer intentionally ran into him with an SUV on Church Street. Hutchison was wanted for allegedly passing counterfeit currency. He is being held on 50 thousand dollars bond.
