Judge Again Denies Former Lawmaker's Request For Early Release

A Franklin County judge this week denied a former Democratic Ohio lawmaker’s second request for early release from prison. 51-year-old Clayton Luckie was sentenced in January 2013 to three years in prison after pleading guilty to election falsification, grand theft and other charges. State and federal investigators say he spent nearly 130 thousand dollars of campaign funds on personal expenses and failed to report campaign expenditures for six years. Luckie has attributed the crimes to “errors in judgment.”
