Newark Rejects Pit Bull Proposal

Newark  City Council voted last night to reject changes to the vicious dog law that would have permitted pit bulls and other specific breeds without restrictions.  Pit bull owners had lobbied for the new law, saying irresponsible owners should be blamed for making dogs vicious. Council was scheduled to vote on the measure in February, but delayed the vote to allow for more public input.
