Former Youth Coach Gets Probation In Child Porn Case

A former Battelle employee and former youth hockey coach will serve four years' probation on a child-pornography charge. 29-year-old Matthew Kiernan previously pleaded guilty as part of a plea bargain in which nine other charges were dropped. Kiernan was arrested last April after a sheriff's detective downloaded child pornography through a file-sharing program traced to Kiernan's home computer. Kiernan was an assistant coach for the Ohio Blades, a hockey team for disabled children.
