The federal investigation into the Columbus red light camera bribery case is expanding. Two law enforcement sources tell WCBE federal investigators are looking into campaign donations made to a former Cincinnati city council member by veteran Columbus city hall lobbyist John Raphael. He is the man who worked as a consultant for camera company Redflex, and has been linked by the feds to campaign donations made to elected Columbus officials. Democratic Columbus Mayor Coleman along with City Council president and Mayoral candidate Andy Ginther have denied taking bribes and say they are cooperating with the investigation. Former Redflex CEO Karen Finley pleaded guilty last month to charges of bribing elected officials in Columbus and Cincinnati in exchange for obtaining or maintaining municipal contracts.
