A Columbus woman who authorities say crashed head-on into another car, killing one person, has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Mattison Skoog, pleaded guilty in September to aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Authorities said that Skoog's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit on March 24 when she drove west in the eastbound Interstate 70 lanes before crashing into another car in Madison County. Police said 32-year-old Maribel Mijangos, a passenger in the car, died on the way to a hospital. Two other adults and three children were hospitalized with minor injuries.
